Cabaret Meets Life Drawing At Nottingham's Dr Sketchy

Now here's something to really get you sharpening up your pencils and drawing skills. Dr Sketchy is an anti-art school for both amateurs and professionals held in Nottingham every other month which combines serious drawing with lighthearted performances. Originally founded in 2005 in New York City by illustrator and artist's model Molly Crabapple who had become bored with the usual sterile classes she was posing for, Dr Sketchy now has groups in 150 cities around the world and our Nottingham branch is run by local pin-up and vintage-inspired illustrator Charlotte Thomson-Morley and seasoned burlesque performer Scarlet Daggers.

Everyone of every ability is welcome to attend this three hour afternoon event at The Glee Club in Nottingham and have a go at drawing the cabaret, burlesque and carnival performers in their costumes and take part in drawing competitions whilst DJs play tunes from many eras and genres.

The next Dr Sketchy is a special Historical and Theatrical Costumes event on September 24th where six models will pose in ten different costumes for the life drawing session. Artists are able to bring their own materials (no paints) with a refreshments break halfway through the event. Tickets are £8 in advance and £9 on the door (£8 for students)
