Nottingham CAMRA Cider Pub Of The Year Competition

The Nottingham branch of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) is launching a new competition this year to find the pub in Nottingham that best promotes and serves real cider and perry. "Although Nottingham has an excellent reputation for real ales it's a bit of a desert when it comes to real cider and perry" explains Ray Blockley from Nottingham CAMRA. "So we want to try and celebrate the pubs that are trying to provide good quality and varied ciders in the city. Cider and perry (an alcoholic drink made form pears) tend to be more popular in the summer, but we're particularly interested in pubs that serve a good range of these drinks all year round. You don't have to be member of CAMRA to nominate a pub," he continues, "nominations are accepted from everyone- members, non-members, pub managers and publicans. All you have to do is fill in the nomination form and the deadline if Friday 8th July 2011."

Nomination forms and further details are available on the Nottingham Drinker website http://www.nottinghamcamra.org/ND/104%20June%202011.pdf
