Now here's something to whet all kinds of local appetites. Nottingham's third annual Food and Drink Festival is running this year from Wednesday 29 June until Sunday 10 July and is hosting a whole smorgasbord of events all around the city from cocktail master classes to pasta, pizza and focaccia-making demonstrations.
Current holder of Champion Beer of Britain, Nottingham's Castle Rock Brewery has created a 4.5% traditional dark bitter Malt Loaf Beer especially for the Festival whilst Nottingham Brewery have come up with their own Nottingham Food and Drink Festival Ale. Brewed on pilsner malt and at 3.8% it will be available in all city centre real ale pubs including the Old Angel, home of Annie's Burger Shack, named recently in an online countdown by MSN as in the top ten burger places for the UK. Annie has also come up with a special Festival Burger featuring locally-sourced minced beef, a square sausage slice, mushrooms and HP sauce which has origins in this region.
